I haven’t seen much mentioned about the two here, and I was wondering if anyone here had any opinions about them. From what I’ve researched at the time (very newbie then, only relative newbie now) they seemed alright, but honestly I mostly got a bit of each because of the high rewards percentages for staking on Kraken.
Now that I have some more experience under my belt, I’m starting to get a little wary of coins with high staking % that don’t seem to have a lot of discussion going on. What do you all think?
Thanks in advance!
Thank you for the info! Polkadot seems like a great project, so tho I’m a tiny player in the big game I try to pick up what I can when it dips.
Good to learn about Keplr, I like to have options besides mobile. I tried Cosmostation for a round of staking once early on in my crypto experience, but I had horrible timing and got to watch the price drop significantly while locked in for 21 days. I’m pretty good at not selling during dips, but (especially at the time) not having the option to back out was a little panic inducing. Kraken’s staking (7.5% right now) was close to Cosmostation, with the added benefit of withdrawals at any time, so I switched over to that. Kava is at 20% and Kusama is 18% (Polkadot is 12%, but also a much larger % of my investments), which is so much more than the others they offer I started to worry I was making decisions based on greed rather than logic.
Thank you for taking your time to share that info! I know that Reddit isn’t the end all be all of crypto info, but I genuinely have learned a lot from the subreddit, like terminology, suggestions for research, and lots of things of what NOT to do. Thanks again!
Kusama and Kava are legit projects. Kusama is the canary network for Polkadot. Basically they test out funtionality on kusama before they put it on Polkadot. Cardano really could have used a canary network. Kusama is live, the first Dot dapps go live dec 17th.
Kava is (irrc) a lending borrowing plat on Cosmos. If they’re not IBC enabled they will be soon. Cosmos is PoS chain. That’s why the staking returns are so high. Idk what you’re getting on kraken but i’d recommend staking any cosmos coins in a Keplr wallet. If you’re only on mobile because you like things to be difficult there’s Cosmostaion for cosmos staking. Current apy for Kava on Keplr is 34%.
Reddit is a small section of the entire crypto space. There’s a ton of group think here. They have their coins they shill constantly while others aren’t mentioned because they don’t know or only a few understand(OHM, metaverse, nfts).

Kusama is sister chain of Polkadot. It’s amazing indeed.

Bullish on both
Considering how young the coin is yet performing well. It moves well with the market and shows healthy rise. Considering its connected with Polkadot, another good and solid coin I decided to start DCAing Kusama when the price reaches under 300 dollars.
Kusama is one of those coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum you want to have at least one of in my opinion.
I do technically have a 1 in Bitcoin, it’s just preceded by several zeros lol. Gonna keep on DCA-ing in, and someday it’ll only be preceded by a few zeroes!
Why bother with kusama when you can have the real thing? just get DOT.
Greater potential for gains with KSM
This is legit the first mention of KAVA I’ve seen here. I remember invesing in it this summer when I saw it being one of the only coins to consistenly gain in value.
I’m still bullish on it, just waiting to make money I can afford to put in it
That was one of the reasons I started get a little nagging feeling about it. I know to take mentions of coins here with a grain of salt, but it was surprising that a coin that is easy to both stake and unstake with an 18% staking return on a large exchange had been mentioned so infrequently. Peeps around here tend to sing the praises of their coins (I mean, don’t we all), but with rare mentions (I searched for history), a “it’s too good to be true” feeling started popping up. I only have about a year of crypto experience so I started doubting myself.
I like them both. Would buy. Much recommend
Wicked bullish on DeFi lending kava once they support some more assets
The tokenomics of KSM look incredible to me.
