Hi guys, I just wondered what tips you guys could give to a relative novice? What are the best ways to keep track of performance? What sites do you use for trading, buying etc? How do start with looking into the background and credibility of a coin? Any recommended podcasts or content to check out, or books and educational resources you found useful? There’s so much information online that varies from useful to pushing an ulterior motive – I find hearing experiences from real people so much more helpful, so would love to hear what you guys think. Thanks in advance

Best advice I have is what someone once told me: If you can’t handle 50% swings, you can’t handle crypto.
You mean 90% swings….
Start with researching and understanding blockchain technology; that will open up a path for you to follow.
I also don’t think you can beat good old Excel for portfolio tracking. Plenty of API feeds you can use fore live data.
Learn a lot.

best tip I can give you, admit you don’t know a shit about fuck 🙃
One big tip: always take profits!! Make sure along the way up you always take small profits. Say a few percents every week. At first you might think it’s stupid because you’re missing out on profit but you will hate yourself when it drops if you don’t have fiat to buy the dip
Slowly build up your portfolio and only look at your app maximum once per day(I would advise once every week tbh).
Beware of scam messages in your inbox
The only tip I can give regarding DYOR is to stay away from crypto youtubers and the Shitcoins they shill to their unsuspecting audiences
Do as much research as you can on a coin. Put some relatively safe bets in Bitcoin and or ethereum. Do not invest more than you can lose.
Don’t take this subreddits advice as gospel.
Best advices: Resist FOMO; do not leverage yourself into crypto; only spend what you can lose.
Where to buy: I use Binance.
Best info: As a started, I liked decrypt.co and CMC Alexandria. Now I mostly use Coin Bureau on Youtube.
Keep track of performance: I like CMC portfolio. Simple and gives all that I need to keep track of.
DCA in, never panic sell.
As a lot will say don’t spend what you can’t afford to lose, but also don’t spend money that you need back in the short term either, because your most likely end up selling at a loss. Crypto is a long game.
Only put money in you would be okay with losing
Can you handle the truth?!
Don’t make decisions based on emotions
Best advice: do the opposite of what this subreddit says and you will be rich in no time!
DYOR
Buy low
DCA
HODL
Don’t panic sell
Use fear and greed index
Sell high
Don’t share your seed phrase
Don’t listen to youtubers/influencers
Don’t mindlessly follow what you see on Reddit.
Research projects, figure out whether there are actual use cases or if it’s just a fad.
Don’t over diversity. Expect large swings in both directions. Don’t FOMO, things WILL come back down.
Do your own research!
Rule #1
Never answer any DMs (direct messages) as they try to scam you in 99%.
Don’t listen to youtubers/influencers as they most likely get paid to promote scam coins rugpulls etc.
You can watch reviews of a project on youtube to see how it works pros and cons but stay away from people who yell’ GUYS THIS IS A 1000X INVESTEMNT OPPORTUNITY’
DYOR.
If you gonna trade on exchange binance for example enable all possible security features.
Set a pin on your sim card.
Personally i disabled biometrics from the app login and use 6 digit pin code. Enable 2fa on sending and withdrawing funds.
Don’t store your wallet seed in the clod/computer/email drafts etc.
Double, triple check the website url when you import your wallet.
Start DCA in Eth BTC and in the meantime research altcoins. Dont be afraid to buy the dips.
dont spend it all on r/nanogonewild
If you want safety or more risk averse, start from the top and work your way down the coin by market cap.
